The Journey

My name is David Esquivel and I'm the head coach of Frequency Strength and Conditioning . I've always been into fitness as a young adult but followed my passion for helping people in 2020. I'm a certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, sports specialist and youth specialist with credentials from National Academy of Sports Medicine. I love to make fitness fun for everyone I'm able to connect with. My clients range from teens to elderly and from beginners to athletes. I'm currently training for upcoming triathlons and endurance sports. I have a deep passion for open water swimming which has contributed my healthy lifestyle. I understand the first step can be intimidating so allow me to help you take the leap of faith to begin your fitness journey. My journey has taught me that everyones story can inspire someone else. At the end of the day it's not about me its about OUR fitness community. Tell me about your journey and your goals.  #whatsyourfrequency

"I began working out with David a more than a year ago after I decided I needed to make a big change to improve my health after two years of poor lifestyle choices during the pandemic.  David is friendly and enthusiastic about fitness, and his energy really encourages me to put my best effort into my workouts.  His workouts are consistently fun and challenging and have helped improve my physical and mental health tremendously.  He genuinely cares about my progress, gives me lots of positive feedback, and checks in regularly to make sure our work together is helping me meet my goals.  I'm happy to endorse him to anybody looking to make a positive change in their life through fitness."

Last summer, in pursuit of taking my tennis to the next level I started working out with David. Before hand, between points I was gassed, lacking the necessary stamina and agility to keep up with opponents. However, since taking his advice, and battling through tennis specific workouts I’ve noticed a significant improvement on the court- from chasing down the last ball or out lasting my opponent in third set tiebreakers. Clearly his attention to detail, positive attitude, and work ethic is contagious.

“David is an exceptional personal trainer! I work with him 3 times each week and he always keeps our workouts fun and engaging. He balances a variety of challenging cardio and strength training with mobility and recovery.  Every session, he is ready to go with a smile, great attitude and personalized program.  If you are looking to get in shape, move at your own pace and maybe learn some boxing I could not recommend David more highly!  His joyful, warm personality makes every session a lot of fun!”

David is the best trainer I’ve ever worked with.  He is very focused on giving me the training that is important to me achieving my personal goals. He was extensive experience is every aspect of athletic training. He inspires me to do my best to attain my goals. He has introduced me to the idea of mobility rather than flexibility.  This has fundamentally changed the way I workout and it has delivered wonderful results. David is very personable and fun! Finally, David walks the talk. He literally can do every exercise at an expert level. I would recommend him enthusiastically to anyone interested in his services.

I am a 6’5” 250+ lb almost 80 year old man who in a much earlier life was a decent athlete.  After two new hips and a stent and a sedentary lifestyle my wife encouraged me to visit the fitness center and enroll in a class.  So I did.  It was one of my best decisions.  David is a warm, friendly, motivating personal example of a commitment to improving one’s physical fitness.  Not only is he an engaging personal example of Fitness but he is very knowledgeable in all aspects of a great workout to include the following: Activation, Mobility, and Strength.  My progress has been remarkable.  Today I am well under 250lbs with more erect posture and an even more positive outlook.

Resistance training is essential for building and maintaining muscle mass, while cardiovascular exercise can help to maintain muscle mass and prevent muscle loss. When combined, the two types of exercise provide an even greater stimulus for muscle growth and maintenance.

You never know what you're training for. Always be willing to step outside your comfort zone, I escaped all the self doubt.
